An integrated model of active suspension system (ASS) and electrical power steering system (EPS) were established based on the predictive control theory that was used to design a MPC (model predictive control) controller. Computer simulations were carried out under the Matlab/Simulink environment. The simulation results showed that the integrated system of ASS and EPS with a MPC controller could not only apparently improve ride performance and vehicle handiness, but also effectively reduce the vibrations caused by road inputs.
