With the increase of structural parameters of a rotary machine, the sealing induced airflow excitation on the rotor increases significantly. By taking Muszynska’s model for sealing force, the nonlinear dynamic equation of a rotor with cracked foundation was derived. According to adaptive control theory, a multi-parametric adaptive algorithm was presented. Numerical simulations on the rotor system were performed with this method. The results show that the parametric adaptive control method possesses strong capability of stability in control. The methodology is appropriate to the complexity of multiple parameters of non-self-governing chaotic system, when the system goes into chaos by outside disturb, and the working state can be adjusted to normal timely. The research results also provide the theoretical foundation for theory design of rotary machine and fault dynamic monitoring, and have high practical value. 
